Lamborghini is an Italian sports car manufacturer. The company is located in Sant’Agata Bolognese close to Bologna, Italy.
As the story goes, Ferruccio Lamborghini had a Ferrari. He was having problems with the clutch in his Ferrari 250 GT. he went to Enzo Ferrari and explained his problem. Enzo, which was not too fond of his customers in the first place, believing they only purchased Ferrari’s for the prestige and not the performance, was not too happy with the meeting. He told Ferruccio to leave and drive tractors as he could not drive cars. Lamborghini left the meeting with the intentions of fixing the clutch and headed off to his factory. He dismantled the Ferrari and learned the clutch was manufactured by the same company that created the clutch for his tractor. He searched around the warehouse and found a part he thought would fix his problem with the clutch and of course it worked and he solved the problem.
Ferruccio from that point decided to create his own car with a V12 engine. He contacted Giotto Bizzarrini who had at one time worked on a Ferrari V12. The new engine they created had four cams, a short stroke, and big bore valves per cylinder, thus creating a 350 horsepower. The engine was mounted in a design by Franco Scaglione.
The prototype Lamborghini 350GTV made its first public showing in 1963 at the Turin Auto Show. In 1964, the production model began to be sold with around 130 models. Ferruccio Lamborghini born under the sign of Taurus decided to use a bull as his badge for his new automobile.
The various models of Lamborghini from its birth include:
